We'll also be opening a time capsule that has been hidden in the library since July 2007 waiting for this day. What mysteries await us when it is opened? Join us to find out!

Did you know Marion County was once home to an NFL team?  The Oorang Indians from LaRue, Ohio featured Jim Thorpe as their best player in the 1922 & 1923 seasons.  Chris Willis, Head of the Research Library at NFL Films, has written the newest contribution to the history of the team.  Join us at 7:00 pm on October 10th (Location: TBA*) for a fascinating discussion with the author and a chance to purchase signed copies of the book.  History and sports buffs will not want to miss this!

Rock Painting!

Curious to know more about the rock painting craze popping up all over the country? Amanda Schultz Russell, creator of the facebook group Marion Ohio Rocks will be with us to explain and show how to make your own. All supplies are provided. If you do want to bring your own rock, feel free. Rocks the size of a half dollar coin up to palm sized work best.

Get ready to let your imagination run wild and show us what amazing things can be done with rocks! Don't forget to tag your rock with #marionohiorocks
