Feedback from attendees from around the state was instant and overwhelm- ingly positive: they couldn’t believe a Friday night at the Marion Public Library could be so...FUN! New York Times best selling author Paula McLain was the featured speaker. For the Marion community to host such a revered writer was a very bigwin, a fact not lost on the Library’s Executive Director, GaryBranson. “We could not ask for a better eveningwith Paula sharing her journey as a child growing up in the foster systemand then becoming a writer. Just a truly amazing evening.” Over 90 attendees were treated to an evening of great conversation with the author, her engaging presentation, food, music, and drinks plus the opportunity to have their books signed by the au- thor. Ultimately, all of this benefitted the Library. The next BookMarks fundraiser will be February 16 with their annual Murder Mystery - this year titled Death on the Scioto.
