Creative Writing Workshop with Bluffton University English Professor Jamie Lyn Smith, MFA
October 25, 4:00
Students in grades 9-12 with a passion for writing will have an opportunity to hone their skills later this month. Jamie Lyn Smith, an English professor from Bluffton University, will offer the program on October 25th at 4:00 pm.
The workshop will benefit writers of all types, especially those interested in fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and even playwriting. Students need only bring their preferred writing tools; either a notebook or a laptop if they prefer.
Smith is also excited to share news of Bluffton University’s new literary journal, Bridge, which highlights young writers aged 14-24. The first edition was printed in Spring of 2017, with the next publication due in December of this year. Local writers interested in submitting their work can visit http://www.bluffton.edu/eng/bridge.
There is no cost to students to attend the workshop. Only 30 spots are available, so those interested should contact the Library (740-387-0992) to reserve a spot.
