Marion Public Library welcomes David Fierst to discuss his research and book, Hidden Disgrace: Revealing the Distress Signals Covered by North American Indian Myths, inspired by a visit to Pine Ridge Reservation. Learning more about the experience of the Lakota people led him to original document research at the National Archives in Washington DC and several Historical Societies. Mr. Fierst will discuss Native American history in Ohio, dispel myths and biases, and share what he has learned about modern reservation life.
David Fierst will participate in the ReadLocal Author Fair on September 14, more info here https://marionlibrary.org/readlocal.
He has worked for the Ohio Attorney General's Office, served in the Army as both an enlisted man and an officer, and practices law in Dayton, Ohio.
